Hampden Estate is one the oldest sugar estates in Jamaica, dating back to 1753. Renowned throughout Jamaica's rum history for its full intensely flavourful pot still rums, it continues today to be the quintessential heavy pot rum of choice throughout Europe and other parts of the world.
Hampden makes a variety of rums ranging from 50 to 1600 Esters. Hampden Bulk Rums are used throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, Scotland, South America, the Caribbean and in a variety of blended rums throughout North America.
In 2009 the Hussey family acquired the estate and decided to enter the market with their own range of products.

These rums are genuine products from the distillery and are not to be confused with the many Hampden rums on the market sold by independent bottlers who source the rum from the bulk market. Hampden has been distilling rum and supplying the bulk market with many different Marks for many years.
Hampden Gold Rum is presented at 40% ABV. This rum is created for the mixing market. An incredibly pungent rum of high esters, with tastes of fruit, particularly pineapple, stewed apples and hints of spice.
