Clifton Hall is a unique 12 year old blend of pot and column still rums. The first release was only available in Barbados.
As early as 1650 virtually every sugar estate in Barbados had a rum distillery attached and Clifton Hall Great House of which the earliest record is a 1656 mortgage was no exception. To this day, rum continues to fuel the economies of the Caribbean.
As a tribute to the heritage of Clifton Hall Great House, this rum has been selected by Massimo Franchi [the recent owner] from the reserves of the nearby award winning Foursquare Rum Distillery.
Vanilla, butterscotch fudge, allspice and caramel are in the initial aroma. On the palate a lovely balance of smoky oak, spices and citrus. The citrus is backed by some raspberry and banana, then vanilla and caramel. Long elegant warm finish.
