Named after the 89 iterations created to perfect this award-winning spirit, Cristalino is a relatively new innovation in tequila. The method is similar to that of aged white rum, where the aged alcohol is filtered to remove the colour. This Añejo was matured for a year in American oak barrels and is rich in aromas of vanilla and coconut. The result is an incredibly smooth and approachable, yet flavourful tequila that will win over even the most agave sceptic. The Añejo Cristalino walk the line between tradition and rebellion, giving the sipper a unique and meaningful experience.
The nose is agave-driven with warm notes of vanilla and coconut. Zesty citrus aromas lead to grapefruit and lemon zest on the palate. Every edge is rounded, it is full and creamy but not at all heavy. The finish is pure tequila bliss, a little sweet but not spicy.
Añejo Cristalino makes a great marinade for gravlax and other seafood, including oysters and caviar.
