www.rumshop.co.uk makes every effort to ensure the information listed on the website is accurate and up-to-date but there are times due to circumstances beyond our control when the product information may be incorrect.

We will always keep you informed of any changes made to your order request. Please also make sure you are aware of our delivery Terms and Conditions.

1. Copyright

No photography, imagery, text, source code and any other material shown on www.rumshop.co.uk may be reproduced or redistributed without our prior written permission.


2. Payment

We accept payment by Switch/Maestro, Solo, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal.


3. Prices

All prices are quoted in British pounds (GBP), and are per bottle unless specified. Standard 750ml for wine and 700ml for spirits unless stated otherwise. Any delivery charges are additional. All goods remain property of the vendor until paid for in full.


4. Age Restrictions

We do not sell to anyone who isn't 18 years old or over. Sorry, but that's the law. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you are buying as a gift - the recipient must also be over 18 years old.

A proof of ID with the proof of age will be requested to confirm your order and will be requested at the point of delivery.


5. Customs, import duties and other
taxes

All alcohol products sold by The Rum Shop are sold subject to UK alcohol tax.

All export to an address in the European Union (EU), Switzerland and the United States of America (USA) as well as the rest of the world will be sent with the UK tax paid.

However, your order may be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in your chosen country, which are levied at the time the package clears customs. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, The Rum Shop has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

Refusal to pay the local import duties and taxes will result in the goods either being:

  • destroyed by customs; or
  • goods being returned to sender at the cost of the consignee (costs will be deducted from any refund owed).

If your order is being held by your local customs office, you will be able to determine this from the information viewable through the tracking process.

Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you will need to contact your local customs office if you require further information.


6. Shipping Costs and tracking

We currently ship only to the UK mainland, the Isle of Man, Shetland Islands, Outer Hebrides (IM, HS and ZE; postcode), Gibraltar, the EU, Switzerland, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, parts of the USA, only. For deliveries to other parts of the world email us at sales@rumshop.co.uk for more details.

All our deliveries are tracked.   

Someone must be there to sign for the delivery:

A signature is *always* required on delivery, so if you are not going to be at home we are more than happy to deliver to a work address. Alternatively, you can request (although not guaranteed) the delivery driver leave your order in a safe place or with a neighbour. This is at your own risk. Please note that parcels not signed for at the delivery address will not be insured against loss or damage. Simply pop a note into the ‘Additional Instructions’ box in the checkout or give us a call after ordering to request this.

When products of various weight are combined the higher delivery charge will apply based on the total weight.

. Claims and Breakages UK, only

Customers are requested to carefully check all goods at the time of delivery. The delivery note should be signed noting any shortages or breakage. We regret we cannot accept claims for shortages or breakages not recorded in this way. All packaging/breakages must be retained for inspection in the event of any claims. We must have confirmation of any breakages or shortages within 24 hours of delivery, either by telephone or email. If any products are damaged in transit to the customer, we are fully insured and therefore can provide a replacement of the damaged products as long as you notify www.rumshop.co.uk within the 24 hours.


8. Order cancellation, returns and refunds UK, only

We want you to be 100% happy with your order and it is our aim to ensure that all products supplied to all customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchasing (other than for perishable, personalised products, those products that have been specified as non-returnable or bin-end items).

If you have received your order and are unhappy with any of the products ordered, we will happily refund your money or exchange the products provided that you inform us of your intention to return the products within 14 days from the date of your order being delivered. However, we will only reimburse the cost of returning items where they were delivered in error or the items were damaged or defective.

Any products must be returned to us in good condition, in the original packaging and unopen. It is recommended that the returned product(s) are sent tracked and signed for. All refunds will be paid within 14 days of receiving the returned product(s).

Please note that not all of the items for sale at The Rum Shop are new and in some cases will have been purchased at auction or sale from a private collection. Product images on the website are intended for illustrative purposes only and may not be exact representations of the item in stock, particularly for antique and/or discontinued products, which may not be in 100% perfect condition. Please also be aware that batch numbers, vintages and bottling dates may be subject to change. If this happens, we will do our best to inform you before the item is shipped.

All refunds will be subject to a processing fee of 3% with a minimum fee of £2.50.


9. Order cancellation, returns and refunds non-UK

We want you to be 100% happy with your order and it is our aim to ensure that all products supplied to all customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order prior to dispatch for a full refund less a processing fee of 4% with a minimum fee of £5.50.

Once the product(s) has/have been dispatched no refund will be provided for lost, damaged or product(s) seized by the local authorities at the country of receipt. All non-UK deliveries are sent with NO COMPENSATION.

If you have received your order and are unhappy with any of the products ordered, we will happily refund your money or exchange the products provided that you inform us of your intention to return the products within 14 days from the date of your order being delivered. However, we will only reimburse the cost of returning items where they were delivered in error.

10. Availability

We have endeavoured to ensure the accuracy of the information on the site. Should a product be unavailable, we will inform you of this promptly. Prices and specifications can change without notice and products are subject to availability.

11. Continuity of access/service

Our objective is to offer our customers the best possible service, but we are unable to accept responsibility for interrupted access to www.rumshop.co.uk due to technical problems outside of our control. Due to the nature of the Internet, access may be suspended, restricted or terminated at any time, and we are therefore unable to guarantee entirely error-free access and services.

12. Force Majeure

www.rumshop.co.uk will not be liable for failure to meet agreed obligations due to prevailing circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

By using this site you accept that it is at your own risk.   Privacy Policy We collect some personal information in order to process and deliver any orders you make with us online, and also as part of the registration process for our mailing list form, so that we can contact you from time to time to let you know of offers that we’re running. When you order from us, we require your name, email address, delivery address, credit or debit card number, registered address of the credit card, credit card cvc number and the card's expiry date. This allows us to fulfil your order and to keep you updated about its status. We will also ask you for your telephone number, so we can contact you if there is an urgent problem with your order.
