Trois Rivieres 12 Years Old Rum 70clAn excellent agricole rum from the Trois Rivieres aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Brown sugar syrup, liquorice pastilles, singed orange peel, treacle toffee and cinnamon biscuits. on the nose with fruity toffee with a coffee and charcoal in the background. The palate is leafy - pine needles, crunchy brown autumn leaves and waxy green leaves. Gentle spice balances charcoal and tree bark, with forest floors and damp earth adding an almost Cognac-like rancio note. Trois Rivieres AmbreThis rum is golden in color, slightly coppery, with flashes of gold. The secondary aroma is characterized by warm sugar and dried flowers. Spicy notes emerge after aeration. This rum has a soft and smooth taste, with subtle notes of caramel, milk and toast. The finish of this rum contains straightforward hints of fruit. An original agricultural rum, due to both its fresh, soft and perfumed mouthfeel and its woody finish. A very handsomely-packaged golden rhum agricole from Martinique's Trois Rivières, this Ambré is extremely approachable with classic agricole aromas of fresh sugar cane. Trois Rivieres Cuvee de l'OceanTrois Rivieres Cuvee de L'Ocean is made using sugar cane grown in the south of Martinique next to the Atlantic Ocean. The result is a maritime rum, with hints of sea spray added to the classic agricole notes of grass and sweet fruit. This works especially well in a Daiquiri. On the nose you will get coastal grass, sea spray and coal-like bitterness. Sweet notes of fruit develop, with a buttery backbone and liquorice hints. Soft spice and lemon zest provide support. The palalte is light, sweet and very green freshly chopped sugar cane, mown grass and stacked straw. Earthy and woody notes appear, with seaside pebbles sat alongside freshly stripped twigs. Rich, warm and sweet notes of dark sugar slowly develop underneath. The finish is a wave of sugar syrup is followed by phenolic notes, brine and hints of smoke. Trois Rivieres Cuvee du MoulinThis rum is straw-yellow with slight flashes of gold. Full-bodied rum. The initial aroma of this Trois Rivières old rum is dominated by sugar cane and elegant woody notes. White pepper and spices emerge after aeration. It has an invigorating taste and a wonderful structure. The primary flavors of sugar extend into notions of spice and white pepper. The finish of this rum is long, with woody notes and an invigorating mineral quality. This rum won the gold medal at the 2011 General Agricultural Show in Paris and the silver medal in 2013. An aged rhum agricole with a delicious spicy subtlety - Trois Rivières rums will appeal to the whisky drinker and this is a great introduction to the range.
