Enemigo 00 Extra Anejo Tequila 70clThis tequila is distinguished by its purity. It is distilled using a clean, environmentally conscious method that uses recycled agave instead of fossil fuels. During production, each 100 per cent blue agave is painstakingly tested for sugar concentration before being heated. This is then distilled with spring water flowing through a volcano. Enemigo's 00 Extra Añejo is then transferred to American oak barrels where it can rest undisturbed for over three years. During this time, the spirit takes on the deep colour and flavour of the wood. The result is a perfectly balanced tequila with a multitude of flavours, only produced in limited quantities, making each sip special. When poured, Enemigo 00 Extra Añejo tequila is dark amber and sticky, aesthetically reminiscent of young Scotch whisky. Enemigo 89 Anejo Cristalino Tequila 70clNamed after the 89 iterations created to perfect this award-winning spirit, Cristalino is a relatively new innovation in tequila. The method is similar to that of aged white rum, where the aged alcohol is filtered to remove the colour. This Añejo was matured for a year in American oak barrels and is rich in aromas of vanilla and coconut. The result is an incredibly smooth and approachable, yet flavourful tequila that will win over even the most agave sceptic. Tequila Exquisito BlancoFor about 2000 years indigenous populations of Mexico have been drinking the fermented juice of the agave plant, this is known as pulque. Represented on the front of the Exquisito is a picture of Mayahuel a goddess of the Aztecs who apparently had 400 breasts from which she fed 400 gods - pulque. For the Aztecs 400 was a number that simply meant innumerable. It offers a smooth agave nose with hints of vanilla, very soft and unctuous on the palate with an easy, well rounded finish. Tequila XQ Blanco 100% Agave 70clA rare bottle of XQ Tequila Blanco from the now-defunct Case Tequila XQ family. XQ Blanco is un-aged and made from 100% blue agave. The hand-selected agave piñas are slow baked in a traditional oven which softens them ready to be crushed and the juice extracted. This Tequila has delicate, citrusy agave notes on the nose. The palate is smooth and tinged with white pepper. The finish is long and supple. NOTE: 1. The Q shape bottle is handmade hence the sometimes looks like it is not completely full as each bottle shape is slightly different. 2. Tequila XQ Reposado 100% Agave 70clA rare bottle of the XQ Tequila Reposado from the now-defunct Casa Tequila XQ family. At XQ distillery they use traditional copper pot stills and put the spirit through three times, using only the heart of the distillate. Reposado means rested and a reposado can be rested for up to one year. XQ Reposado, as the whole range, is incredibly smooth, largely due to the triple distillation technique used. Rich yet clean agave flavours with hints of vanilla. This is a 100% Blue Agave Tequila bottled in a beautiful "Q" shaped hand-blown bottle. NOTE: 1.
