I came across a brand of Mauritian rum, served in a delightful bottle, shaped like a dodo, a couple of years ago. In the interim, I attempted several times to get one myself, for a Mauritian expat who has pined for her home for the best part of fifty years. However, all the top liquor dealers in London, and not a few online dealers, blithely advertising the product, were out of stock and remain so. Then I discovered the Rum Shop in Wood Green. They had this rare little item in stock and at a remarkably fair price. I placed an order and was gratified to receive a bottle, securely delivered to my home by Royal Mail, a few days later, in a sturdy, padded cardboard box. Good service all round.
